Personal Trainers – Why You DON’T Stand Out! And What To Do About It!

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen “personal trainer” accounts (and some fitness) models that are educating their audiences. They are showing them things like “How to do the perfect squat” and “how to do the perfect burpee” and exercises and routines that they do that make them look like how they look. HOT (yes, I’m that self-absorbed, now, smash that follow button :D).

Personal Trainer Instagram

Did you read my post about the health and wellness coaches? If not, you can read it here. I’m not going to lie to you. I have a lot of personal trainer friends (somehow), but I never had a personal trainer. Unless you count Tony Horton from P90X and I’ve been with him since 16!

It’s the same though; I’m not going to make a story out of this again because what I see whenever I run into a personal trainer on Instagram are themselves.

I see posts of them working out at the gym, posts of guys with shirts off showing their abs. Maybe we can blame the Instagram algorithm for serving up this content or maybe we can admit that maybe the majority of personal trainer posts are like that.

Is what I’m saying speaking to you? I wonder.

28M posts. That’s your competition. Now, ask yourself, how many of them have a blog? Where we can learn about them? 😉

Stand Out

Do you agree with me? I’m sure you see this too.

And the thing with humans and our psychology is we tend to follow the crowd. When everybody is doing one thing, the majority will do the same thing and follow the trend. Nobody wants to be the weird one and stand out; because rejection is painful.

A short story, when I was a kid, my friends would all buy nike shoes. I had to get nike shoes even if I was broke because I didn’t want to feel left out. I begged my parents until they caved… because who wants to be the awkward, weird kid without the nike shoes?

So my question to you, right now, is do you want to be part of the crowd or STAND OUT from the crowd?

What Is Your Story?

You know, I taught this in my last post as well. If you haven’t read it yet, be sure to read it here. It’s pretty entertaining, I think (and it’s not because I wrote it – maybe a little.).

I hit the gym or do some sort of exercise everyday. 30 minutes. I do not skip because, if I do, I feel guilty. It’s not even about being in shape anymore; it’s just about it being a habit that if I don’t train, I just plain feel bad and guilty.

It all started in high school. Have you ever had that PAIN of not being able to talk to a girl (or guy) you liked? You are quiet and mysterious and that is what is attractive about you, but hell, you LACK TOTAL CONFIDENCE in yourself.

“They’re interested in me? Couldn’t be. I mean I’m not the best shape and not the most confident…” I thought to myself.

In the last two years of high school I started doing P90X with a friend. A real friend and someone I still talk to today and I’ve always struggled with finding people that I connect with.

It’s only now that I know why. Hasan and I connected well because we both liked to work out and push ourselves to peak physical fitness and he was kind of awkward too – feathers of a bird flock together I guess.

We were both outcasts and I was never invited to any parties and he was never invited either. It was a very kindred spirit kind of deal.

… It wasn’t until my late twenties, I started learning about neuroscience and fitness and how working out helped produce dopamine, oxytocin, endorphins, and serotonin – the happy chemicals that put me in a better mood.
And you want to know what the game changer is? Do you want to know?
Being in a better mood assists a positive mindset and adopting a positive mindset means adopting a more charged, more improved lifestyle…

Do you want to know how life turned out and what I have right now because of that? Do you? …. (Well, you just have to subscribe to my blog and keep reading my emails for that secret, hahaha! Got you!)

Where Are You With Your Blog / Website?

So, let me ask you straight out.

1. Why don’t you have a blog?

2. Why don’t you have a website?

3. Why doing you have an efficient website?

I know that since you are still reading and you have some interest in what I’m talking about.

If you’re reading this far, let me take a guess about the pain points for you…

  • You don’t know where to start
  • You don’t have time to do the research
  • You’re not technically capable or competent (so you think) and you lack confidence in yourself (that is completely okay by the way – confidence is a muscle, it must be trained)
  • You have an efficient website, but nobody is coming to it and you don’t know what you need to do to make it efficient.
  • You keep on hearing all these other things you need to do for blogs, like Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Keywords, Domain Authority, and Backlinks and you have no idea what they are and it seems so complicated.
  • Most importantly, you feel like it’s already a lost cause before you even got started.

Guess What?

That’s what comes to mind if I was in your position… and guess what…?

I was. I was overwhelmed too. Nope, I did not know what SEO, Backlinks, Keywords, Domain Authority was. How did anybody find my blog? How long did my content actually need to be for Google to actually see it as authoritative and relevant.

I was lost.

But what did I do to get unlost? (that is not even a word…)

I looked online and found mentors that I really trusted. How can I find that mentor?

I think that’s a good segway for the next time you hear from me…

Your homework for today: Ask yourself, where are you with your blog/website? Where do you need help? Who can help? Take one hour and think about it. Go take a walk in the park and voice record your thoughts (this is golden advice, btw)

Continue sharing your way to success,

Donald

P.S. You can email me about anything and if I can help you, I will help you. Programming, marketing, marriage counselling advice (I’ve never been married, but I read a lot about it and I can suggest some ideas if you want it). I get a ton of emails, so it will take some time (as long as it doesn’t end up in spam), I will personally get back to you. I promise.
